Do you have less than £63,000 savings (the value of your home is not included as savings)?
AND:
- single and over 65: do you have a weekly income of less than £184?
- couple and one of you is over 65: weekly income of less than £270 jointly?
- Single, aged 60 – 65: weekly income of less than £132.60?
- Couple, one aged at least 60 – 65: weekly income of less than £202.40?
You are likely to be entitled to Pension Credit – extra income added to your pension.
Attendance Allowance and Disability Living Allowance are not counted as income and in fact if you receive either of these benefits you may be entitled to Pension Credit even if the money you have coming in each week is higher than the levels given above. - Do you receive the state retirement pension and only a little or no more income, and do you have less than £16,000 in savings? You may be entitled to Council Tax Benefit and Housing Benefit.
