Lunch Groups
The opportunity for older people to get out and meet up with friends and neighbours over lunch has been taken up by many in the Northern Fells Area.
Due to the sterling efforts of the Lunch Group organizers and the helpfulness of the Pubs and of Anne Parry, the following Lunch Groups are running presently:
Caldbeck Group (Contact: Antoinette Ward, 016974 78220): On the fourth Thursday of the month at the Oddfellows Arms, Caldbeck at 12md. £5.50 for main course, sweet and tea/coffee.
Denton House, Hesket Newmarket (Contact Susan and Alan Armstrong, 016974 78415). On the 1st Wednesday of the month at Denton House, organised by Susan and Alan Armstrong.
Ireby Group (Contact: Barbara Boyes, 016973 71580): On the fourth Thursday of the month at the Globe Hall, Ireby at 12md. Main course, sweet and tea/coffee, cooked by Anne Parry.
Sebergham and Castle Sowerby Group (Contact: Jean Dickinson, 016974 78475 or Mary Brough, 016974 78213). On the second Wednesday of month at Sour Nook Pub, Sebergham at 12md. Main course, sweet and tea/coffee.
Rosley Group (Contact: Dorothy Smith, 016973 42546). Rosley Village Hall on the third Wednesday of the month, and Anne Parry cooks the meal. Volunteers help with serving.
Mungrisdale/Mosedale/Hutton Roof/Berrier Group (Contact: Lesley Smith, 01768 79397) have a parish lunch at the Mill Inn, Mungrisdale on the third Wednesday of the month at 12md.
Westward Group (Contact: Ethel Pigg, 016974 78344) - organised by Ethel and other ladies of the parish - soup and sandwiches - at Westward Church Hall on the second Thursday of the month at 12md.
