We aim to make our website as useable as possible for everyone and to compy with accessibility guidelines. The website should be able to be viewed in basic text browsers and read by screen readers.
An accessible site should have:
- Valid XHTML and CSS markup compliant to W3C standards
- Semantic markup
- Contrasting design with clear layout
- Logical flow of page content and graceful degradation for screen readers and text browsers
- Non-fixed font styles and sizes so users can adjust them through their browser
- Useful meta data including Alt and Title attributes for images and links
- Written transcripts for audio and video content where necessary
