How it works
Every time members choose Co-op branded products and services and use their Co-op Membership card (subject to our Membership T&Cs), 1% of what they spend will go to their chosen cause. Members can log on to the Coop website to choose their favourite cause and the group they choose will benefit from the scheme.
Last year Northern Fells Group was successful in applying to be a partner in this scheme and we have recently heard we have been awarded a grand total of £1,854.40 from the store at Dalston. We are one of more than 4,000 causes across the UK who’ve benefitted from the Local Community Fund, funding that’s making a difference in the communities of the local stores.
The money will be used to help us pay for the hire of Church Halls, Village Halls and other venues in which we carry out our activities across the area.
We have also successfully applied for the next round which will run from now until October 2017 – this will be allocated towards activities for children, including the summer playscheme.
