Young People & Families

We have a range of projects, services and activities aimed at children, young people and families.

Holiday Schemes

Most school holidays we provide activity schemes for 5 years and older at affordable prices as we know how difficult it is for parents and carers to access schemes locally. Often our schemes provide full days of activities such as:

  • Crafts, arts and stone carving

  • Drama workshops

  • Sports, including coaching provided by local sports clubs

  • Outdoor adventure and bushcraft

  • Team work

  • Community projects

  • Baking and cooking

We base our sessions around fun, informal, hands on activity sessions that allow children and young people a chance to meet others, enjoy familiar as well as new activities, learn new skills and develop new friendships.

Our sessions take place across our catchment area to enable as many children and young people access, these often take place in local village halls and schools. Our priority is to provide places for children and young people from within our catchment area, but if there are spaces available we do allow others living outside of the area access.

Family Days

Our activity days are free of charge and open to any age group and family make up, we do ask that children are accompanied by a parent/carer.

We provide family activity days for all age groups, these usually take place in village halls and are often centred around different seasonal celebrations such as Easter, Christmas etc. We also run sports and BBQ days during the summer.

You will also find us at some of the popular agriculture shows in summer such as the Hesket Newmarket show, where we provide a full day of activities.

Youth and Community Shed Project

This project takes place at our workshop and other venues on Mondays and Wednesdays and is aimed  primarily at young people of all genders aged 16- 25 years old not in education, employment or training. The project is also available to under 16 year old children who may be home educated or on a part time table, they must be accompanied by a parent/carer.  The project can be accessed by those living in our catchment area or living close to the area.

The project also provides sessions for families, mixed gender sessions and women’s sessions.
